I finally got you. You were much trickier than the curious Robins of the last few days. Either my reactions are getting quicker with practice, or you were milliseconds more generous with your perching time than usual. This wasn't a JPG straight from camera though. That experiment continues but this image still needed the shadows lifted, along with a bit of sharpening. I find edits like that hard to do on the camera itself, the screen is too small, the controls are too fiddly, and so I ultimately end up back in Lightroom...Maybe that is going to be one subscription I can't do away with after all.
There is also a Woodpecker out there, somewhere. I don't know much (I know nothing!) about birds but I do know that distinct sound. I couldn't spot it visually so I don't expect a Woodpecker image to be uploaded any time soon. I do expect to go back and try again though. I'm quite enjoying the challenge of this.
