Muntjac Surprise
I was about ready to leave. I'd spent a frustrating couple of hours without being able to capture anything, not even so much as a Robin. I was having one final attempt at a couple of Great Tits when I caught a glimpse of some hind legs disappearing on the track ahead of me. I'd spotted a deer yesterday and wasn't able to react quick enough, they'd seen me first, and there was no way it was waiting for me to raise my camera. This time I had the ever so slight advantage, I suspect the wind noise was helping to disguise my footsteps which let me creep up from behind. I was surprised she wasn't immediately spooked by my presence, especially when we made eye contact. She was evidently aware of me, and even posed long enough for a quick burst of images before she bolted.
