Some hail & some thunder
Plenty of scrappy looking showers were zipping through on a cold Northerly air flow yesterday. Not much wind shear or instability to hold these together for long (as usual), but some cold air above helped with a little hail and some thunder. These are generally shit to try and photograph or get in a position to photograph as they fall apart too quickly and have no real focus (they can just pop up anywhere), so my 'wait and see what comes my way strategy' was the only real option.
Still, I managed to take a direct hit from one shower which left quite a decent covering of hail, probably the most hail I've seen from a storm/shower for years in this part of the world. This may look like a scene from winter, but it is actually late spring :)
