Trying something different

I've never attempted any bird or wildlife photography until now (well, there was the squirrel I spotted in December), and I don't know why I didn't attempt it sooner. It seems perfectly aligned with my other favourite subjects, Aurora, Lightning, Storms, Noctilucents, in that it's technically challenging, frustrating, and really pushes your patience and equipment to the limits. Perfect, ha.

I'm sure there are other species of bird available, but apart from Robins, who appear to be quite interested in having their picture taken, I haven't really spotted much else in my local woodland. The odd Blue Tit or two, but man those things are skittish and don't stay still for a second. I imagine its not the best time of year for this type of photography but it was actually quite fun and something I think I will keep trying.
